Alexandra presents environment awards at Houses of Parliament (November 19, 2009)
On 17 November, I had the honour of presenting the National Green Apple Environment Awards at the Houses of Parliament.
The awards are given to Local Authorities and businesses each year to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice.
Apart from animal rescue I have always been very involved in environmental issues, so I am delighted to have been asked to take part.
The awards are given by The Green Organisation - an independent, non-political, non-activist, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world. There's more information about their work on The Green Organisation website.
I was delighted to present the award winners with their trophy for the outstanding work they've done. I think I must have shaken about 300 hands throughout the day! Congratulations to all the winners for doing their bit to make a difference and caring about the environment. Click here to return to the News page
